Join Animal Quest for an experience you’ll never forget! Discover a variety of amazing creatures for a fun and interactive wildlife education show. You will learn fascinating things about the animals and even have an opportunity to touch some of them.

Grades 4-6, join Miss Blaine, Miss Catherine, and Miss Tremonisha for Anime Academy a NEW program that takes your love of Anime and brings it to a space where you can talk with others after watching it!

Have you ever loved something and wished you could talk to someone about it who could relate? This is what is so AMAZING about Anime Academy! Take your LOVE of Anime to the library and you'll find a built-in community of kids your age to discuss it with after watching!

Oh, and did we mention we'll have snacks and refreshments?

First step: sign up here: lplibrary.org/events2/anime-academy-grades-4-6, then, show up Wednesday, June 17 at 4:00 p.m., and we'll handle the rest!

Starting tomorrow (6/15) for 6 weeks, Miss Blaine, Miss Beth and Miss Rose are excited to be offering Summer Story Times! There's IN-PERSON programming for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and it all happens in our Activity Room on the lower level. Sessions start Monday, June 15, so mark your calendar! lplibrary.org/events

*No registration required! First come, first served. Sign up sheet will be available at the Children’s Services Desk 15 minutes before the start of story time. Limit 12. Spots are limited.

You can find all of the story times on our event calendar (lplibrary.org/events). Click on the day(s) you would like to attend, Monday through Thursday to find each story time and read more.

Do you want some at-home story time convenience? Miss Christina's Bilingual Spanish Story Time happens on the 2nd Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and Pajama Story Time happens on the 3rd Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Both programs are online on Facebook! Simply tune in at the starting time or anytime after. Get your planner or calendar and mark the dates to attend. No registration or Facebook account is required!

Summer is the perfect time to send messages of hope and joy to hospitalized children or senior citizens through uplifting, handmade cards.

Pre-addressed, pre-stamped mailing envelopes will now be provided with blank postcards for you to decorate.

Just place the decorated cards in the envelope and drop them in the mail!

Battle of the Books: Library Edition 2026 (Grades 5-8)
Register NOW, deadline to register is July 1.

Join us for our annual Library Battle of the Books between the La Grange, La Grange Park, Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield and Thomas Ford Memorial libraries.

Register at your preferred library and we will place you on a team of 5. If you want to ensure you’re placed on a team with friends, include a team name or your friend’s name when registering.

Register by July 1st to secure your spot. Read the books below before July 29, then compete against your peers at Thomas Ford Memorial Library!

Grades 5-8. Registration Required.

Community Park District has this wonderful Garden Club and they'll be here at the library on Friday, June 12. We are incredibly grateful for their assistance with weeding, planting, and mulching by our LPPL signage on La Grange Road!
