Today the Village held a memorial ceremony at Village Hall to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.

As we mark 25 years since that tragic day, please join us in remembering the lives lost, honoring the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, and reflecting on the lasting impact of September 11, 2001.

Please remember that the speed limit on La Grange Road is 25 mph between Ogden Avenue and 31st Street. The La Grange Park Police Department regularly enforces speed violations along this corridor so slow down and help keep our community safe.

To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Village will host a memorial ceremony at Village Hall (447 N. Catherine Avenue) this Friday, September 11, beginning promptly at 8:45 a.m. The ceremony will take place in front of Village Hall; however, in the event of inclement weather, it will be moved inside Fire Station #1 in the apparatus bay.

The program will include remarks and a moment of reflection. All community members are welcome as we honor and remember the lives lost on this day 25 years ago.

Village offices will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labor Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 a.m. Due to the holiday, refuse pick-up for all three sections of the Village will be delayed one day. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Today, we honor and remember Patrolman Robert E. Miller #301 of the La Grange Park Police Department on the anniversary of his end of watch, September 4, 1960.
Patrolman Miller tragically lost his life after colliding with a vehicle while responding on his police motorcycle to a fire at the corner of La Grange Road and Oak Avenue. He served our community for seven years and left behind a wife and two children. He was 34 years old.

In his memory, Badge #301 remains permanently retired.

We are grateful for his service and sacrifice, and we remember him today.

Making composting more accessible has been a goal of the La Grange Park Sustainability Commission, and residents now have a convenient new option for composting at home! The Village Board recently approved a Preferred Vendor Agreement with The Urban Canopy to offer voluntary curbside compost collection to La Grange Park residents.

Look for the bright yellow bucket! Residents receive a 5-gallon collection bucket and can choose the schedule that works best for their household:
✓ Weekly Pickup: $40/month
✓ Every-Other-Week Pickup: $30/month
✓ Monthly Pickup: $20/month

Food scraps and other accepted compostable materials are picked up right from your doorstep and turned into nutrient-rich compost.

It’s time to renew your vehicle stickers and dog tags!

Renewal forms were sent to residents beginning last week. It's quick and easy to renew online using the PIN number in your renewal form. You can also renew by mail, drop off at the payment box at Village Hall, or visit in person during business hours. New residents should stop by Village Hall or visit the Village’s website to print and complete a new application.

Current vehicle stickers and dog tags expire on October 31, 2026. Funding from vehicle stickers and dog licenses helps maintain our roads in La Grange Park, so please purchase yours today!
