Meet the Musashino Columnar Zelkova (Zelkova Serrata) - Cultivar Musashino, which is a cultivar of the Japanese Zelkova. This broadleaf tree typically grows to 60 feet tall but under ideal conditions can reach up to 80 feet! It is an ideal tree for narrow planting spaces as the branches grow tightly upward forming the tree into a nice vase shape. This tree prefers deep moist soil and is fairly pH adaptable and lots of bright sun. In addition to a stunning array of fall colors, the tree features small green flower clusters and tiny little fruit buds. Hardy to Zone 5. (Sources: J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co., OSU Dept.
