Update for Trash Collection
February 2-6, 2026
🛑Roads: We have traveled the routes of trash pickup today. Primary roads are in good condition. Secondary roads and subdivisions, which are our main areas for trash pickup, continue to have icy/snow covered patches. This will require slower drive times and using extreme caution.
🚧Driveways: Driveways remain covered in snow and ice. Visibility of ditches and culvert pipes is still limited or not visible at all. Some driveways have snow banks at the entrance from scraping of the roads. Limited areas for turn around requiring more backing out of driveways or in to driveways. Asphalt and cement driveways are icy giving us no traction to stop.
🗑Trash Cans: Trash cans are frozen to the ground. Trash within the cans is frozen. Cardboard is frozen to the ground or soaking wet and falling apart after it thaws. To help, please place cans if safe for you and safe for the trash can at the road. BAG you trash. If not bagged it will not be collected as it may be frozen inside your can.
⚠️Landfill: For safety reasons landfills have had late openings, early closures or closed. How does this affect PWS? Because of the many delays we are not able to get to the landfill at our normal times. Sometimes we need to go first thing to start a day or we need to go in the afternoon to continue the route.
🦺Safety: Safety of our staff and equipment is our top priority. Without them we can not operate. Your safety and your property's safety are also important to us. To ensure safety, trash pickup will be at the discretion of the driver.
📌Routes: Routes will be on a day to day schedule this week. Trash pickup will resume tomorrow morning with a delay beginning with the WEDNESDAY route. Please have trash cans at the road and ready by 8 am.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you soon!
