We come together in solidarity as a nation to remember the victims, families, and first responders of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. We pay tribute to those who answered the call to save lives with tremendous acts of courage and bravery.

I encourage residents, community organizations, businesses, and public officials to participate, reflect, and work toward a future where history does not repeat itself, reminding us instead of our strength and resilience in the face of tragedy.

Finally, I recognize my hardworking Executive Assistant, Annette Steele, who organized today's ceremony. Thank you, Annette, for your innumerable contributions to my office and the people of La Crosse. I also extend great thanks to the City of La Crosse Fire Department and City of La Crosse Police Department for their dedicated service to our community.

It was my utmost pleasure to serve the older adults of our community in honor of National Senior Citizens Day. Thank you to the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of La Crosse County for hosting this annual event. I had a blast!

I would also like to recognize the amazing folks who served lunch alongside me: County Administrator Jane Klekamp, County Board Chair Tina Tryggestad, City of La Crosse Fire Department Chief Jeffrey Schott, LaCrosse Radio Group Program Director Kelly Wilde, and 2026 Riverfest La Crosse Commodore Misty Lown.

The City of La Crosse is seeking interest in a youth commission comprised of 13 young people (ages 14-18). This group would meet regularly with elected officials, learn about policies impacting the city’s youth, and provide feedback and insight for new projects.
