UW-La Crosse move-in days are Wednesday September 2- Monday September 7. At times you can expect heavy traffic as UWL students both new and returning will be moving into UW-La Crosse Residence Halls.

The La Crosse Police Department Community Resource Unit (CRU) had the opportunity to meet with Salvation Army Staff and the Board of Directors to discuss ways we can partner and serve consumers in our community.

Over the last several months, the La Crosse Police Department has worked closely with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue to educate and partner with local establishments on responsible beverage service. Yesterday, we continued to enhance those efforts by hosting a training with the La Crosse City Clerk, La Crosse County Health Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue to assist servers, managers, and business owners on ways to recognize false identification, license and renewal applications, alcohol laws, responsible beverage service, and several other topics. Thank you to everyone who attended and for your joint efforts to keep our community safe.

When it comes to merging for lane closures, there are some misconceptions out there. The truth is this - using all lanes until the merge point, and then zipper merging, will help us all get where we’re going more efficiently. The zipper merge can reduce traffic backups by as much as 40%.
