Welcome New Officers!
Please join us in welcoming our five newest officers: (left to right) Victoria Jackson, Colin Schuster, Tanner Weinfurtner, Colton Wharton, and Nathan Selck. This morning, they were sworn in as police officers with the department. We are excited for each of them to start the next chapter of their careers with the La Crosse Police Department.

CONGRATULATIONS Officers Colton Wharton, Nathan Selck, Colin Schuster, and Victoria Jackson. Today they graduated from Western Technical College Criminal Justice Law Enforcement 720 Academy. Captain Andy Dittman, Neighborhood Resource Officer Nate Wiste, School Resource Officer Jovanna Nedland, and Chaplains Diana and Bryan McGrath were present to celebrate the new officers' graduation.

Recently, La Crosse Police K9 Units; Officer Steve Hughes and K9 Zeus and Officer Dakota Jelinski and K9 Maverick, participated is the 2026 United States Police Canine Association PD1 certification in Olmsted County, Minnesota. This certification tests the skills required out of a patrol canine. Each team is judged on categories such as obedience, article searches, suspect searches, and criminal apprehension. K9 Zeus and K9 Maverick both passed this year’s certification.

La Crosse Police K9 Units actively train to maintain these standards. Please help us as we celebrate their hard work and dedication to serving the La Crosse Community.

School Resource Officer Jovanna Nedland teamed up with La Crosse County Youth System of Care Administrator Bridget Todd- Robbins earlier this week to present at the School Resource Officer Training Conference. They spoke about the success with the System of Care Program and how its implemented with our partners at the School District of La Crosse. Thank you for the partnership!

Morning round of showers and storms will continue to move through the region with some damaging wind potential in parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. These storms may impact the storms this afternoon. It continues to look like the greatest risk will be across northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin as surface low moves through this afternoon. The severe weather threat will move east quickly this evening.

Missing Child - We are asking for the community's assistance

Aura Bubbers, 9 years-old, last seen, in the 1100 block of Fifth Ave. So., La Crosse, in her home, at approximately 3am on Wednesday June 10, 2026.

Aura is female/white and is approximately 4’07” tall, 70lbs with shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes and possibly wearing black tank top with unknown color of shorts.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Aura is asked to contact the La Crosse Police Department at 608-782-7575
