Dr. Hanna is the author of What The Eyes Don’t See about the Flint water crisis she brought to national attention.

THE LIBRARY IS HIRING FOR WORK STUDY POSITIONS

The library is hiring Circulation Assistants for opening, afternoon, and evening shifts at the library’s main desk. Circulation Assistants are responsible for providing excellent customer service at the main desk in person and via email and phone. Responsibilities include checking library materials in and out, processing interlibrary loan requests, shelving, organizing, cleaning, data entry and other clerical duties as assigned. Students will gain insider knowledge regarding research strategy, study room sign up, and interlibrary loan.

Students will learn time management and responsibility, critical thinking/problem solving skills, balancing priorities, interpersonal communication, customer service, working with people from diverse backgrounds, working as a part of a team, and developing professional relationships.

Applicants should have good communication skills (written and verbal), be positive and respectful in working with diverse populations, an understanding of Microsoft Office, commitment to customer service, and be able to handle multiple assignments. Shifts will be scheduled between 8 am – 10 pm Monday – Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm Friday, and 2 pm-10 pm Sunday.
