Mason came to the Kirskville Job Center in October 2025 looking for assistance with obtaining his CDL to find lasting employment. As a high school dropout, Mason had no educational credentials and a significant barrier to employment.
Through the WIOA Youth program, Mason received individualized support with his long term employment plan and short term goal of attending CDL training. WIOA provided funding for the training as well as supportive services for mileage reimbursement to help with the cost of traveling to class each day.
Mason completed the training in a month and passed his CDL license exam shortly after. He has already started new employment with this credential to help him on his path to sustainable financial independence.

Congratulations on your success, Morgan!
Morgan came to the job center in 2022 looking for assistance completing her Bachelor program. She had a goal to find employment and meet a need in the Healthcare industry, as a Registered Nurse. Gamm, Incorporated staff enrolled Morgan into the WIOA Adult program to help her develop a plan for success.
Morgan faced continued barriers to completing her training program. She was originally on track to complete in 2024. However, struggling with the advanced courses and managing significant personal struggles tested her perseverance. Morgan continued to work with her training provider and Gamm, Incorporated to adapt her timeline and stay the course.
Morgan began her final semester in the Fall of 2025. While attending class, she identified employment opportunities and continued to engage with WIOA staff. In December 2025, she graduated her training program and has accepted a position with a local employer as a nurse in the ICU. She is currently preparing for her state licensing exam as the final step on this long-term path to her new career.
“One thing I learned that I will be taking with me is paying attention to the little things about the patient. Remembering that they are more than someone in a bed. They have people who love them dearly and are so much more. Understanding the whole person can sometimes be just as important as the critical skills.” - Morgan G.
