🇺🇸👏 The City of LaBelle is proud to announce that Mayor Julie C. Wilkins and Vice Mayor Jackie Ratica recently attended the Florida League of Cities (FLC) 2026 Leadership Class! 🌟

This advanced training experience focused on strengthening leadership skills, fostering meaningful dialogue, and exploring the challenges and opportunities facing local government today. This year’s theme, “Leading Where You Stand: Courage, Civility, and Community Impact,” highlighted the vital role local elected officials play as the most visible and accessible level of government. 🤝🏛️

Throughout the session, participants explored the importance of making difficult decisions with confidence, governing with integrity and respect, and remaining grounded in the communities they proudly serve. 💡💬

The FLC Leadership program builds upon the strong educational foundation established through the League’s IEMO program, which equips municipal elected officials with the tools and knowledge needed to govern effectively. 📚✨ While IEMO I & II focus on key areas such as municipal finance, parliamentary procedure, communication, land use, and labor issues, the Leadership Class offers graduates an advanced and interactive opportunity to reflect on leadership styles, communication strategies, and community engagement. 🌎

One of the most valuable aspects of the program was the opportunity for local leaders from across the state to learn directly from one another by sharing experiences, discussing common challenges, and exploring strategies for leading through complex issues while maintaining strong community relationships. 🤗🏙️

The City of LaBelle appreciates Mayor Wilkins and Vice Mayor Ratica’s continued dedication to professional development and their commitment to serving our community with excellence, professionalism, and compassion. 💙🙌
