It’s almost time to celebrate Kyle’s birthday in the place it all began - downtown Center Street.

We previously announced that this year’s parade would move to the La Verde District due to planned construction along Center Street. After further evaluating construction timelines and coordinating project schedules, we have determined that Center Street can accommodate the parade this year, keeping this beloved tradition right where it belongs in historic downtown Kyle.

So be sure to join us Saturday, October 10 for the Founders’ Parade - a longtime Kyle tradition dating back to the 1880 when the first lots were sold and Kyle began taking shape.

Here’s to another year of being proud to call Kyle home. Get all the details and plan your day at https://events.cityofkyle.gov/default/Detail/2026-10-10-1100-Kyle-Founders-Day-Parade-2026.

Registration is still open if you’d like to participate. Sign up to be a part of the parade at the link above.

What started as a Public Works safety training turned into a day Senior Street Technician Jesus Chavez and his family will never forget.

Once the meeting wrapped up, Chavez’s son, Isaac, surprised his dad at work after being deployed for ten months. The moment brought a few tears, one big hug, dozens of smiles, and gratitude for being able to be part of such a special reunion.

Thank you for your 3+ years of service to the City of Kyle, Jesus.
Welcome home Isaac and thank you for your service.
