⚠️ Utility Billing Update ⚠️

The City of Uhland is currently transitioning to a new utility billing software system. During this transition, utility bills cannot be processed or posted to customer accounts.

Residents may continue to submit payments; however, payments received during this period will not be posted until the new system is operational.

No late fees, penalties, or service interruptions will occur as a result of this temporary delay.

We anticipate the new system will be operational and utility bills will be mailed during the week of June 21, 2026.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this upgrade to better serve our customers.

The Uhland City Council will hold a Special City Council Meeting on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Uhland City Hall.

The City of Uhland would like to inform residents that utility bills were not mailed this month due to recent staff and Council transitions, which temporarily impacted our ability to process and distribute paper billing statements.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work through these operational changes.

The good news is that the City is currently transitioning to a new utility billing platform that will significantly improve the customer experience. The new system will provide features such as:

- Automatic payment (AutoPay) options
- Electronic billing and notifications
-Third-party mailing services for faster and more reliable bill delivery
-Reduced administrative costs and processing burdens for the City

These improvements will help modernize our utility billing operations while providing residents with more convenient ways to manage their accounts.

If you have questions regarding your utility bill or account balance, please contact City Hall at your earliest convenience.

Help Shape Uhland’s Future: EDC Board Position Now Open
The City of Uhland is now accepting applications for a current vacancy and future openings on the Uhland Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board.

The EDC plays an important role in supporting responsible growth, encouraging business development, and making strategic investments that benefit the community.

Who Can Apply?
Under Texas Local Government Code Section 505.052, for cities with populations under 20,000, EDC board members are not limited to city residents. To be eligible, an individual must meet one of the following requirements:
• Be a resident of the City of Uhland;
• Be a resident of the county in which Uhland is located; or
• Live within 10 miles of the City and in a neighboring county.

Additionally, at least three board members must not be City officials or City employees.

All applications will be considered in accordance with state law and City policy.

The Uhland City Council will hold a workshop meeting tonight at 5:00 PM at Uhland City Hall focused on governance structure, budget planning, and Council priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.

Topics of discussion include:
• Governance roles and responsibilities
• FY 2026-2027 budget outlook and operational costs
• Council goals and strategic priorities
• Organizational and service-level planning moving forward

This meeting is for discussion purposes only. No formal action will take place during the workshop.

At today’s City Council meeting:

- Guadalupe Garza was appointed as Mayor of Uhland.
- Mark Garonzik and Seraiah Pineda were sworn in to Council Places 2 and 3.
- The Council appointed Matthew Esposito to Council Place 5.

The City experienced technical difficulties with today’s livestream due to internet instability. Staff is working to address this issue to ensure meetings are available moving forward.

During the Special City Council Meeting, 10:30 AM on Monday, May 11, 2026, the Council may consider appointments to fill vacancies on the governing body, depending on action taken during the meeting.

Residents interested in being considered for appointment are encouraged to attend the meeting. Public comment forms will be available prior to the meeting for those wishing to address the Council.

Any discussion or action regarding appointments will occur during the posted public meeting in accordance with state law.
