These pictures are part of one of the literacy activities the kids participated in during our Waldo party. They looked at each picture and created a narrative based on what they saw. We then read their stories out loud. They had great imaginations and did a fantastic job!

Attention My First Books families! This is going to be a fun-filled and educational family event. Waldo himself will be there! We will be serving Ice Cream and playing a fun interactive game based on the latest early literacy practices. Bring the whole family and don't forget your camera!

'Twas a few days before Christmas
When all throught the place
A smile was tickling
Everyone's face

The books were all shelved
Every one safe and sound
The librarians were ready
To head homeward bound

Just one fellow left
It was Waldo himself
He thought he would wait
For that Jolly Old Elf

For Santa it seems
Has a soft spot for books
And every year
When nobody looks

He stops by the library
To take a small break
He grabs a book and sits down
Just a minute he takes

To read books about giving
And kindness and love
And all of the good things
That he can think of

Then back to his sleigh
And back to his route
Remembering anew
What this Season's about

Out the window Waldo watches
As Santa is leaving
Knowing his present this year
Was the joy of believing!
