Busy afternoon for your Krum Firefighters!

Within a span of 40 minutes, your Krum Fire Fighters were dispatched to multiple emergency calls, including 2 fires and an emergency medical call.

Krum fire companies were first dispatched out to the medical call. As units began responding, a grass fire was reported in the county area. Units quickly split up to handle the two different types of calls.

As crews were on scene of the grass fire, a structure fire was rung out for the east side of town. Thankfully, a local volunteer and our ambulance responded, with assistance from our mutual aid partners.

Crews on scene found a fence and a pile of wood on fire near a structure. Crews successfully extinguished both fires despite reduced manpower and apparatus on both scenes. This is thanks to the dedicated training that your Krum Firefighters put in on a daily basis!

Days like today stress the importance of continuing to pursue increased staffing and equipment to continue meeting the demands of our district as it grows!

🔺🔺 Final Reminder 🔺🔺

Today is the LAST day to vote in the local elections. If you haven’t made it to the polls yet, there’s still time. Polls close at 7pm. Cast your vote at Krum School Administration Building.

Every vote helps shape the future of our town. Those who serve know how important it is to move forward and plan for the future for all.

Today is the opening day of early voting for our local elections. As you know, we have multiple candidates running for several positions within our city government. We encourage everyone to take part in this election, as your vote truly matters at the local level of government.

While we tend to stay neutral as an association to protect our members, we encourage everyone to consider what each candidate has to offer carefully.

What has been done for the community over the course of the past three years?

What has been promised over the course of the past three years?

What does the city's road map look like with currently elected officials remaining in office, or new officials coming into office?

We know people in our community have a voice, and we hope that you show up to make it heard! Your vote will affect the rate of growth, or lack thereof, of your Krum Firefighters in a rapidly developing area.

Working Fire:

Last night, right after 7 pm, your Krum Firefighters were dispatched out to a reported fire in the area of Austin Circle. As Krum companies checked en-route it was quickly upgraded to a working fire due to reports of a victim trapped and multiple callers.

Krum companies arrived on scene to find a two-story residential structure with a working fire on the Charlie side, extending into the attic. The homeowner was thankfully able to self-rescue from the structure before FD arrival. Krum Fire companies quickly went to work on fire attack and additional search of the home. With the assistance of multiple mutual aid companies, the fire was brought under control with no injuries.

While Krum companies were on scene of this fire, a second structure fire was dispatched out in Krum Fire Departments response district. No other units were available for this fire, and luckily, a couple of Chief officer units en route to the first fire were able to divert to the second fire to assess the situation.

Fortunately, the second reported structure fire was not working; it drives home the importance of staffing and firehouses in our community. We look forward to the day that we can provide the community with more firefighters and firehouses to better serve them!

Yesterday afternoon, your Krum firefighters were rung out to a vehicle fire in the area of I-35 for a report of an RV on fire.

Engine 581 and Medic 581 responded along with City of Denton Fire Department. Fire companies arrived on scene to find a motor home well-involved in fire.

Fire companies quickly deployed fire attack lines and went to work, quickly knocking the fire down and preventing further damage to any other exposures.

Well done by all companies involved!

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT:

Your Krum Firefighters are on scene of a traffic accident in the area of Highway 380 and George Owens Road. Two vehicles are involved with multiple injuries. Westbound Highway 380 is shut down at this time while the scene is being worked.

An additional ambulance is being requested for mutual aid due to the second Krum ambulance being tied up on a separate medical call dispatched at the same time.

Please avoid the area if possible.

MAJOR ACCIDENT:

Krum fire companies are on scene of a major accident at Ripy Road and Highway 380. One vehicle rollover with major damage and one entrapment. Vehicle was on fire and fire has been extinguished with one entrapment being worked on at this time. Please avoid the area if possible.

Update:
One patient removed from the vehicle and transport provided.
