Notice to All City of Kountze Garbage Customers

The garbage route that was not picked up on Thursday will be serviced beginning Saturday. If your garbage is not picked up on Saturday, please leave your container out, and it will be picked up Monday.

The City of Kountze would like to inform everyone that Thursdays garbage pickup will be moved to Monday.

The phones at City Hall are down this morning, but we just got them rolled over to our answering service. Please don't hesitate to call in the event of an emergency. City crews are still monitoring utilities, and plan on starting the debris removal from roads tomorrow. Many of the trees are tangled in power lines and we can not clear them until this is addressed.

All City of Kountze offices will be closed today. In case of an emergency please call 409-246-3463. Please understand our crews are working diligently to keep up with the issues that Edouard has created. All issues will be prioritized accordingly.

The City is still experiencing heavy rainfall. Kountze is experiencing localized flooding on some city streets as the rain persists. Hopefully the rain will decrease by the afternoon (according to local meteorologist). Due to these conditions the City of Kountze asks all citizens to limit travel unless absolutely necessary.

There is a line down blocking Otis Street between Feagin and Cariker, please avoid and we will continue to update.
Also line across Williford between Kimberly Ln and Walters Ln.

Good afternoon,
The City of Kountze Public Works Department is out assessing damage. At this time, as many of you know, there are power outages throughout the City. The Public Works Department will be monitoring facilities on generator power and utilizing mobile units to power facilities without permanent standby power. Our goal is to keep your utilities operating during this time.
