☀️ HEAT ADVISORY – HARDIN COUNTY ☀️
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area today, Monday, September 7, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM CDT.
🌡️ Heat index values could reach as high as 107°F.
Hot temperatures combined with high humidity can increase the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, especially for those working outdoors, older adults, children, and anyone without adequate air conditioning.
⚠️ Please take precautions today:
💧 Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
❄️ Spend as much time as possible in air-conditioned locations.
☀️ Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
👷 If working outdoors, take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
👥 Check on relatives, neighbors, older adults, and others who may be vulnerable to the heat.
🚗 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
🐾 Make sure outdoor pets have plenty of fresh water and access to shade.
🚨 Know the signs of heat illness. If someone becomes overwhelmed by the heat, move them to a cool, shaded or air-conditioned location immediately. Heat stroke is a medical emergency — call 911.
