Mr. Beau did an awesome job teaching our Junior Master Gardeners class today. The youth were able to use plant trays and peat pellets to plant sunflower, pansy, lavender, alyssum and vegetable seeds. They learned the different parts of the plant and how to take care of them once they sprout. So much fun getting dirt under our nails!

We enjoyed having Extension Agent Fran Brock from the Oktibbeha County Extension Office in Attala county on Monday to teach us a little about water bath canning. We made some tasty blueberry lemon jam! Fran is always willing to make the drive over to guide us through the canning process and we are so thankful for her.

Matthew and Ellie represented Attala County well this week at 4-H Club Congress! Ellie won 1st place High Individual in Wildlife Judging and Matthew placed 3rd in compact tractor driving/small engines. We are so proud of how hard they worked for their contests. Couldn’t ask for better! 💚🍀
