Today Ms. Christina Meriwether from Leflore County Extension came to help us teach youth at Long Creek Elementary about paper circuits! These are hands-on 4-H STEM activities that teach the basics of electricity using copper tape, paper, coin cell batteries, and LEDs. We had so much fun! 💚🍀

Mr. Beau started the week off teaching some of our 4-Hers how to build birdhouses. The youth did an amazing job assembling and then painting them. 💚🍀

Day 1 of 4-H Camp!

Mr. Beau did an awesome job teaching our Junior Master Gardeners class today. The youth were able to use plant trays and peat pellets to plant sunflower, pansy, lavender, alyssum and vegetable seeds. They learned the different parts of the plant and how to take care of them once they sprout. So much fun getting dirt under our nails!

We enjoyed having Extension Agent Fran Brock from the Oktibbeha County Extension Office in Attala county on Monday to teach us a little about water bath canning. We made some tasty blueberry lemon jam! Fran is always willing to make the drive over to guide us through the canning process and we are so thankful for her.
