Taylor Township Fire Rescue

Taylor Township Fire Rescue We provide services with a fleet of Apparatus that are exceptional for a Volunteer Department.

We operate two Class A Engine Companies, one Heavy Rescue Company, a 2000 Gallon Tanker for rural water supply and a Brush Truck for field and wild land fires. Taylor Township Fire Rescue has a dedicated roster of personnel who provide Basic Life Support Ambulance 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We average 400 calls per year for service with a ratio of 73% EMS related calls and 27% Fire or Rescue re

lated. We also provide and receive Automatic and Mutual Aid from surrounding departments in Howard and Tipton Counties. Taylor Township Fire Rescue provides an aggressive Fire Safety Program to the school age children that attend one of the three full time schools in Taylor Township with annual Fire Safety programs, station tours and our Smoke Detector Program where we pass out over 100 smoke Detectors each year to every Kindergartner in our District. At approximately 9:06 am, TTFR was was dispatched to the 2600 block south on 500 East, for a two car accident with injury. TTFR personnel assisted Medics with removing one patient from their vehicle and that individual was taken to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. 500 East was closed for approximately an hour, while crews worked to clean up debris and remove the vehicles.

Also assisting TTFR was Community Howard Medics, Howard County Sheriff's Office. Howard County Emergency Management Agency and Johnson's Towing.

Today TTFR was able to assist Conservation Officers with the Eastern 6th Grade Hunters Education Range Day. The Firefighters that were in attendance are also Hunter Education Instructors. A Fire and Rescue presentation was conducted during the lunch break.

At 4:53 pm, TTFR was called to Tipton County for a working structure fire, just south of Sharpsville. The barn that was on fire contained a 500 gallon tank of diesel fuel. The fire was contained to the one barn only. TTFR crew were back in service at 7:34 pm.
