At VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters, we have received a number of questions recently about VFW and VFW Auxiliary scholarships and contests. There is some confusion about which scholarships and contests "belong" to which organization, so we've created this quick, handy guide to help keep it all straight!

VFW Auxiliary scholarships for high school students include the Young American Patriotic Art Contest and 3-Dimensional Art Contest. Find more information about these on our website, here: https://vfwauxiliary.org/what-we-do/scholarships-2/

The VFW Auxiliary Continuing Education Scholarship for members and their immediate family can be found here: https://vfwauxiliary.org/scholarships/continuing-education/

The VFW Auxiliary's Illustrating America contest is for students in grades K-8. Find more, including submission forms, here: https://vfwauxiliary.org/what-we-do/youth-activities/

While we do promote the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen as part of our Scholarships Program, these are VFW scholarships. If you have questions about them, please reach out to them directly. You can find this year's theme and submission information, including a guide to finding local Posts, on their website, here: https://www.vfw.org/community/youth-and-education/youth-scholarships

The VFW's "Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarship" information can also be found on their website, here: https://www.vfw.org/assistance/student-veterans-support

Learn more about the Smart-Maher Teacher of the Year contest, sponsored by the VFW, here: https://www.vfw.org/community/youth-and-education/teacher-of-the-year

We hope this helps! Thank you for promoting these incredible opportunities.

A veterans shelter in Randolph County, Indiana, could face closure after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said it won't renew federal programs that provide most of the facility's operating funds. https://tinyurl.com/yck3wymj

No, really. We can fit 1,000 people in the main ballroom. Not 1,000 people if everyone stands really, really still. Not 1,000 people if we stack them like luggage.

1,000 actual guests.

The Kokomo Conference Center was built to handle big events, with a main ballroom designed for up to 1,000 guests, plus six breakout meeting rooms upstairs for smaller sessions, meetings, workshops, and everything else happening around the main event.

Conferences. Banquets. Trade shows. Galas. Large meetings. If you've been looking for a place that can handle your crowd without feeling like you're playing Tetris with tables and chairs, this is it.

Seriously. 1,000.

See the space and start planning at kokomoconferencecenter.com.

The Kokomo Conference Center is opening soon and dates are already being reserved for meetings, conferences, expos and more.

Don't wait until everyone else discovers it. Right now, you have a chance to host your event in Indiana's newest venue while opening promotions are still available. Before the calendar fills. Before the dates you want are gone.

Ask about available early booking incentives.

If you or someone you know is a Veteran impacted by the recent storms in Indiana, help is available.

The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs Military Family Relief Fund (MFRF) offers financial assistance to support Veterans and their families during times of hardship.

➡️ Let’s make sure every Hoosier Veteran gets the support they need.
