🏊🚴🏃 It is time for the 2nd Annual Mini Wildkat TRY-athlon! Calling ALL students in Grades K–5 to swim, bike, and run the Wildkat Way on Thursday, September 17th! Enjoy "Pools, Pedals, and Paws" alongside Kokomo High School Cross Country and Track student-athletes, who will be volunteering with KHS coaches and staff to guide and cheer on each participant.

When: Thursday, September 17

Mrs. Nisbet’s class wrapped up their fairy tale & tall tale unit with a hands-on STEM challenge inspired by Pecos Bill — the cowboy who lassoed a cyclone with a snake! Students worked in partners to design, build, and test their own cyclones. After testing, they wrote about what they observed and drew pictures of their creations. We love seeing storytelling that sparks scientific curiosity! 🌪️

The 1st and 2nd grade outdoor classes teamed up to complete a summer scavenger hunt with partners this week. They searched the woods and pond for signs of nature that can be found this time of year. The two classes had to be quiet and observant to find what they were looking for.

4th grade did their first science experiment using shortening to simulate blubber of an animal. A hands-on experiment to show students how important this is for animals living in arctic conditions.

🎒Keep Bags at Home: Backpacks are not permitted. Please leave bags larger than 12" x 12" x 6" at home. All bags are subject to inspection prior to event entry.

🧑‍🧒 Adults Accompany Kids: All children, including elementary & middle school students, must be accompanied by an adult for the entire event.

🗣️Team Spirit: Direct your energy towards our team! Wildkats appreciate the motivation from the fans. Please refrain from running throughout our facilities & enjoy events with your fellow fans in the stands.

⚠️ Stay in Designated Areas: Remember to stay off the fields & courts. Children are not permitted to play in concession areas or on adjacent fields.

Big letters, bigger smiles! 🤩🅰️🅱️ Mrs. Schneck’s class practiced reading and spelling CVC words today using giant letter cards — hands-on, playful, and full of confidence-building moments.

Have you ever watched change happen in real time? 🐛➡️🦋 Mrs. Schneck’s class has been measuring caterpillar growth as part of their butterfly life-cycle study — and the difference in only 5 days is incredible! Students are recording measurements, making observations, and celebrating each tiny milestone.
