Take a look at the progress of the Coward Mill Dam removal on Beaver Creek! 🌊
With the dam removed, Beaver Creek is returning to a more natural flow, creating better conditions for fish and other aquatic life while improving water quality and reducing heat and stagnation. The project will also enhance recreational access along the creek.
This video highlights the progress of the project, and we look forward to watching the creek continue to adjust and recover in the years ahead.

As we wrap up our Stormwater by the Numbers series, we hope you've enjoyed learning more about the work that goes into protecting Knox County's waterways. Behind every inspection, water sample, cleanup, restoration project, and educational program is a shared commitment to keeping our streams, rivers, and lakes healthy for everyone.

While these metrics highlight what was accomplished over the past year, they also represent the partnerships that make this work possible. From residents reporting pollution concerns to volunteers participating in stream cleanups, educators inspiring future environmental stewards, and community partners collaborating on restoration projects—every effort makes a difference.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's successes possible. Together, we're improving water quality, protecting wildlife habitat, reducing pollution, and ensuring Knox County's waterways remain a resource for generations to come!
