Safe, stable housing changes everything.

Through our longtime partnership with Volunteer Ministry Center, households in Knoxville and Knox County receive critical financial support to avoid eviction and remain safely housed during crisis.

Many of the households receiving this support are ALICE households. These are working individuals who are often one illness, missed paycheck, or unexpected expense away from losing stability.

As VMC shared with us, “Often, just the right amount of help at the right time can stabilize a household.”

We’re grateful for partners who continue to show up for our community when it matters most.

Earlier this week, City of Knoxville - Government and Mayor Indya Kincannon volunteers teamed up to support Wesley House Community Center.

From the food pantry to the donation room, the City of Knoxville team helped stock shelves, sort donations, and create a welcoming space for all.

Dustin Hinshaw, our Employee Campaign Manager (ECM) at the City of Knoxville, helped make this day a reality.

We’re grateful for partners like Wesley House who continue to meet neighbors where they are and City of Knoxville staff who strengthened access to essential resources.

Pressing rewind on a special YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley's Keys of Hope Program moment. ⏪

UWGK staff and volunteers were honored to be a part of welcoming residents into the newly renovated space.

This program has supported women in Knoxville for more than 100 years, providing safety and care when it’s needed most.

Last year alone, more than 21,000 nights of support were provided.

We’re thankful for partners like YWCA who create stability and hope for our neighbors.

The 2026 ALICE report for Tennessee is now available.

Across East Tennessee, this 2024 data helps us better understand what working families are experiencing.

It also highlights the importance of strong community support.

Through the East Tennessee Collaborative, Brianne has been working toward a more stable future for her young son and daughter.

“My goal is to be financially stable,” Brianne shared. “And then hopefully, I can get back and help people, because I’ve had people that were willing to help me along the way.”

Tomorrow, the new data will be released for Tennessee.

This data helps us better understand what ALICE families are experiencing every day.

Ariel Allen and Kate Broome recently participated in a Knoxville Knox County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) activation exercise.

This training prepares our community to make sure our needs are met during disasters.

Kate shared, "What stood out most was how every role matters. Seeing partners collaborate in real time was a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork in emergencies".
