Congratulations to Friends of Literacy, one of our Community Investment Grants funded partners, on the grand opening of the Story Garden, East Tennessee’s first and only free bookshop for children!

About 45% of children in the U.S. live in neighborhoods without a bookstore or library nearby. The Story Garden is helping put more books within reach for families.

Jefferson County showed out last night for the annual Parade of Tables!

The care and attention to detail from our local businesses was incredible, and guests had a tough choice voting for their favorites.

For the second year in a row, First Peoples Bank of Tennessee took home the top prize! Congratulations to their creative team, and we are so grateful you were a part of the evening.

Thank you to our Jefferson County Committee, Jefferson City Christian Church for hosting, and to everyone who came out to give back to our community.

It was wonderful to celebrate with Trust Company's Sharon Pryse and our Employee Campaign Manager (ECM), Joanna Drake-Gager.

Chrystal Armstrong Brown, Kimberly Pettigrew, and Rebecca Darnell were grateful to Judith Pelot with Knox County Mobile Meals for joining us to share the scale of impact we can make when we work together across East Tennessee.

Grantmaking is at the core of the work we do at United Way of Greater Knoxville, but it’s really just the beginning of the story.

Last week at the Visit Knoxville Block Party, we celebrated alongside 105 local organizations who received $3.91 million in Community Investment Grants.

This funding fuels the important work happening across Claiborne, Grainger, Jefferson, Knox, and Union counties. When we work together, we can do so much more.
