📢 Marion County Tax Sale Reminder

The Marion County Tax Sale will be held one week from today on Monday, June 15.

In an effort to reach property owners with unpaid property taxes, we’re sharing a link to our website displaying the most recent listing of parcels with outstanding balances for your review.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: Only CASH OR CERTIFIED FUNDS will be accepted for payment of taxes this week.

💳 Payment Options:

1) Online at www.marioncountyiowa.gov
2) In our office Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
3) Dropbox on the south side of the Courthouse
4) Phone the office to use a debit or credit card (fee applies)
5) Mail — payments MUST be received by Friday, June 12. We do not recommend mailing payments this close to tax sale.

‼️Scam Alert‼️

Fake vehicle registration vouchers are appearing in some Iowa mailboxes luring recipients into revealing personal/financial information. They are not valid and not sent from the Iowa DOT.

If you receive this voucher:
* Please report it to the Federal Trade Commission and discard the mail: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/assistant
* If unsure of validity, review with your County Treasurer’s Office or email a photo to [email protected]

Hackers are at it again. This text was a scam the last time it went around, the time before that, and the time before that. Do not fall for their tricks.

The Iowa DOT would never notify citizens by text of fines due or attempt to collect payment. If you receive this text, delete and block. 

‼ A TEXTING SCAM is firing up again! Remember – the Iowa DOT does not send out fee collection reminders via text, and will never text customers asking for private or financial information. If you receive a message:

* DO NOT click on any links or provide personal or credit card information.
* Report and delete unwanted text messages. Use your phone’s “report junk” option to report unwanted texts to your messaging app or forward them to 7726 (SPAM).
