UT Institute for Nuclear Security The University of Tennessee Institute for Nuclear Security (INS) The INS was formed within the Howard H. Baker Jr.

Center for Public Policy at the University of Tennessee, ­Knoxville, in January 2012. Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Y-12 National Security Complex, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities are the institute’s charter members. Our mission is to align the collective expertise and capabilities available within the membership to play a pivotal role in global nuclear security efforts.

Thursday October 26 at 4 PM (Eastern US time), the Institute for Nuclear Security and the Center for National Security and Foreign Affars (both of the University of Tennessee) will be hosting Scott Roecker, Vice President of the Nuclear Threat Initiative. He will be speaking on “Troubling Findings from the 2023 Nuclear Security Index” in the Toyota Auditorium in the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center.

Admission is free and open to the public, and his seminar will also be livestreamed and available recorded at https://tiny.utk.edu/Roecker_talk for those looking to participate remotely.
