Larsen Jay is serving his second term as an at-large Knox County Commissioner (Seat 10), having been first elected in 2018, re-elected in 2022, and was elected to serve as Chairman of the Commission from 2020-2021. und, with nearly 15 years as a film and television producer, running his own production company, and earning critical acclaim including an Emmy Award. After a near-fatal accident, he later founded Random Acts of Flowers, a national charity delivering repurposed and upcycled flowers to individuals in healthcare facilities, serving as its CEO for 13 years. He is currently serving as the Director of Business Alliances at PYA, a national professional services firm. Larsen’s community involvement includes serving on numerous nonprofit boards, such as the Legacy Parks Foundation, Knox Education Foundation, The Joy of Music School, The Bijou Theatre, Alliance for Better Nonprofits, and the Knoxville Symphony. He’s also volunteered with the University of Tennessee Medical Center Emergency & Trauma Advisory Council, H.A.B.I.T., Bijou Theater, Boy Scouts of America, TNAchieves, Leadership Knoxville, Market Square Ice Rink, Leadership Tennessee and Honor Air. While Larsen was born on an Air Force base in Texas, he represents seven generations of Tennesseans. His family is counted among the “First Families of Tennessee,” having settled in Marion County since before Tennessee became a state. Knoxville and Knox County has proudly been Larsen's home for over 30 years alongside his wife, Adrian, and their sons, Henry and Alexander. Today, Larsen Jay is in his seventh year serving on the Knox County Commission, proudly representing all areas of the county and the 515,000+ citizens he reports to. During that time, he has championed several projects including the Beaver Creek Cleanup, Northshore Drive Pedestrian Safety Corridor, Annual Mental Health Report, Playspace Fund, and the Junior Commissioner Youth Civics Leadership Academy. Additionally, Larsen has vigorously supported updating the AdvanceKnox Growth Plan, record raises and bonuses for Sheriff's officers, expanded park assets, support for our veterans and seniors, and building new public elementary schools across Knox County. Larsen continues to serve the people of Knox County, focusing on ensuring fiscally responsible strategic investment in our community, including support for growing infrastructure needs, public education, our aging population, law enforcement professionals, our honored veterans, and robust economic development initiatives. As the next Knox County Mayor, he will continue to bring a practical, common-sense, conservative approach to local County government.
