Did you know that 1 in 2 women experience domestic violence?
Our director of victim services, Latoya Shephard, recently spoke with WATE about the importance of raising awareness within the community about how common domestic violence can be and the resources available to victims and survivors.
YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley's Victim Advocacy Program provides lifesaving, non-shelter services for victims and survivors of domestic violence such as safety planning, danger assessments, court accompaniment, assistance with filing orders of protection, community education, support groups and connection to community resources.
Thank you to WATE for raising awareness of this important issue. Learn more by watching the segment: https://www.wate.com/news/top-stories/ywca-knoxville-domestic-violence-awareness/.
