Tennessee Valley Authority Retirees Association A non-profit organization of TVA retirees The Valley-wide TVARA has been in place since 1967. The group is managed by its Board of Directors.

Currently there are more than 11,000 members associated with 20 chapters. The TVARA is governed by its bylaws that outline how it was organized and how it functions. The Board is made up of the valley-wide officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and immediate past President) and Presidents from each of the chapters.

We have signed the Trump Administration’s Ratepayer Protection Pledge, strengthening our commitment to keep energy affordable and reliable for the 10 million people we serve across seven states.

With some of the lowest electric rates in the region, we’re working to make sure costs stay manageable as demand grows.

We are exploring updating our rate structure for large power users, including fast-growing industries like AI, to help protect residential customers from cost impacts.

Proposed updates will go to the Board for consideration in August as we continue putting customers first.

The TVA Board of Directors selects Mike Skaggs as interim president and CEO. Mike brings decades of experience at TVA and across the nuclear energy industry. He previously served as senior vice president of Operations and Construction at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant and led the completion of Unit 2 in 2016, a historic milestone for American energy.

His steady leadership and deep operational experience will help guide our work as we continue to deliver reliable, affordable energy, serve the people and communities of the Tennessee Valley, and advance the next generation of nuclear power to support America’s energy future.
