We are heartbroken by the passing of Dolly Parton.
Dolly’s impact on Make-A-Wish East Tennessee reaches back nearly four decades. She began granting wishes as early as 1986, when Melissa, a childhood leukemia survivor, was granted her wish to meet Dolly in New Orleans. At just 11 years old, Melissa’s wish was inspired by her grandmother, who played their music while Melissa received treatments.
And Dolly never stopped believing in the power of a wish. Her generosity continued through the years, including right here in East Tennessee. Just a few years ago, Dolly granted a wish for Charlie, creating a special memory that her and her family will carry with them forever. Charlie’s wish was just one of countless wishes Dolly has helped make possible throughout the years.
From the very beginning of Make-A-Wish to today, Dolly has been a true wish granter and an incredible friend to our chapter. We are forever grateful for the countless children and families she has touched and for the hope and joy she brought to so many.
Thank you, Dolly, for a lifetime of making wishes come true. Your legacy will live on in every wish you helped make possible. 🤍✨
