Yesterday was a hot one at the UT football game!

We are so thankful for our volunteers who donated their day to help keep others safe. Long hours and hot temperatures didn’t stop our team from being there and ready to serve when needed.

Late Evening Water Rescue on the Holston River

Late yesterday evening, Knox County Rescue was dispatched to the Holston River to assist a disabled pontoon boat that was moving swiftly with one adult and four minors onboard.
Our Water Team responded, located the disabled vessel, and safely transferred all five individuals to our rescue boat. Everyone was transported to safety without incident.
The disabled pontoon was secured and left in place for later recovery.
We are thankful for the safe outcome and for our dedicated volunteers who continue to answer the call—day or night—when our community needs assistance.

Today, one of our drone operators had the opportunity to visit with our friends at Burlington Library!
We had a great time educating everyone about our drone program, the capabilities of our equipment, and the many ways drones can assist in emergency situations. We always enjoy opportunities to share what Knox County Rescue does to serve our community.

Today, members of Knox County Rescue had the opportunity to attend the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Luncheon in Anderson County.

We are incredibly thankful for the grant funding we received! These funds will be used to purchase new rain gear for our members, along with a PPE washer and dryer to help properly clean and maintain our protective equipment.
