JOIN US FOR SUMMER READING FUN, ALL SUMMER LONG!

OPEN FOR BROWSING & CHECKOUT:
Summer hours for for browsing and book checkout are Monday - Thursday 10am - 3pm and 5pm - 7:30pm as well as Sundays 9:30am - 12:30pm. When visiting, don’t forget to pick up a summer reading bingo tracker game so you can read diversely and get BINGO at the same time. Then bring your game back for our Summer Reading Party on August 2nd at 1pm. Check back in August for an update on fall hours and for the most up to date information, check the calendar of our hosts, Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, for any building access udpates.

CDJL PRIDE:
We will be bringing our pop-up library to two PRIDE festivals in Knoxville this summer. SouthKnox Pride on June 20, 12n - 6pm, we will be set up in front of Riverside Vet. We will have a small pop-up version of our library to browse, we will be handing out stickers and summer reading bingo trackers, and setting up patron accounts for folks who want to come check out books.

Next up you’ll see us at West Knox Pride on June 27 from 3pm - 8pm at HeyBear Cafe on Middlebrook Pike doing all the same things, plus storytimes!

BINGO!
All summer long in the library and at events you’ll find our summer reading tracker BINGO game. Read 5 books in a row that match the criteria on the bingo game (dimensions of diversity like Refugees & Immigrants, Cultures & Traditions, LatinX, etc., books about people a lot like you, books about people very different than you, books with poetry, books with nature, etc.) and get BINGO! Then bring your game back to our summer reading party on Sunday August 2nd at 1pm at the CDJL (inside Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Room H) and have more fun with prizes, crafts, playground fun and stories! (No, you don’t have to complete your BINGO to partipcate! Just come have fun!)

Today is Sweetwater Pride, June 6th 12-6pm at The Duck Park❤️‍🔥 201 Duck Park Ln Sweetwater! Since we were not able to staff our booth due to health issues, we gifted our space to Beau for her and Knoxville LGBTQ Friendly Business Directory. Beau does so much to keep our community 'in the know'! I'm so glad we were able to provide a booth for her and her endeavors! 😍
