Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001.

We honor the lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the families forever changed, and the countless men and women who have served our country in the years since.

For those of us in aviation, September 11 carries a particularly profound meaning. It forever changed our skies, our industry, and our nation.

May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the unity our country showed in the days that followed.

Talk about flying with style! ✈️😎

Today we had a very special visitor at the Knoxville Airport. Ami stopped in while ferrying a beautiful 1931 Curtiss Junior from Red Oak, Iowa, to C37 – Brodhead, Wisconsin, where it can be seen at the Ketch Aviation Museum.

Here’s the really cool part- Ami earned her private pilot certificate in this very airplane! Nearly a century old and still turning heads and making memories.

We love shiny new airplanes, but there’s just something magical about hearing the engine of a 95-year-old aircraft taxi onto our ramp. Thanks for letting us be a small part of its journey, Ami!

✈️🤩 We may have accidentally created 37 future pilots this weekend! 🤩✈️

Knoxville Airport was buzzing as we celebrated Day and gave 37 kids the chance to take to the skies!

A huge thank you to our 6 amazing volunteer pilots who generously donated their airplanes, time, and fuel to make some aviation dreams come true. Special thank you to Domino's Knoxville IA - 711 W Pleasant St, Knoxville, IA for keeping everyone fueled with pizza, and Knoxville Aviation for suppling the donuts (because every great flight starts with Hy-Vee donuts, right? 🍩).

Knoxville’s flight instructors also taught classes on how airplanes fly and what it takes to become a pilot. Judging by the excitement, questions, and giant smiles, we may have inspired a few future captains, mechanics, air traffic controllers, and maybe even an astronaut or two. 🚀

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success. The future of aviation is looking pretty bright right here in Knoxville! ✈️💙
