As your Knox County Trustee, Justin Biggs has worked to make the Trustee’s Office more efficient, accessible, and proactive for the citizens we serve.

Since taking office in 2022, the office has expanded outreach through the Mobile Operations Program, helping seniors, disabled residents, and those with mobility limitations apply for tax freeze and relief programs without having to travel to the main office.

In addition to administering these programs, the Trustee’s Office has advocated for policy improvements to strengthen property tax relief for disabled veterans and increase the income threshold for elderly tax freeze eligibility, helping ensure these programs keep pace with rising costs.

Operational improvements and record-breaking tax sales from 2023–2025 have helped restore properties to the tax roll, increasing revenue that supports essential county services.

We remain committed to delivering responsive, accessible service to Knox County taxpayers every day.

02/16/2026

The Knox County Trustee’s Office is committed to providing convenient, accessible service to our community. To better serve our citizens during the busy property tax season, Trustee Justin Biggs will be opening both the Downtown and Farragut office locations on Saturday, February 21st, and Saturday, February 28th, from 8 am - 12 pm.

We understand that weekdays don’t always fit your schedule, and these extended hours are another way we’re working to meet you where you are and make doing business with our office as easy as possible.

We look forward to serving you!

Bringing Government To The People

01/25/2026

With freezing temperatures expected tonight and icy conditions likely, the Knox County Trustee’s Office will follow Knox County Government and will be closed Monday January 26, 2026 to help ensure the safety of our community and our staff.

We want you to know that we’re still here to help. If you need assistance, please reach out to our office by email at [email protected] and a member of our team will be glad to assist you as best we can.

We’d also like to share a heartfelt thank you to the Knoxville-Knox County CAC Office on Aging and their partners for their incredible work in caring for our senior citizens during this winter weather. Their proactive efforts to make sure older residents have access to meals and support during challenging conditions truly reflect the spirit of Knox County.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and check in on friends and neighbors if you’re able. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to serving you again soon.
