Chief Sean Patterson and members of our department had a fantastic week getting to welcome new students and their families during Vol 103: On-Campus Experience breakout sessions.

Vol 103 is an optional one-day, on-campus experience that gives first-year students and their family the chance to connect with academic and campus life resources, see a residence hall, eat in Rocky Top Dining Hall, and connect with other new Vols and their families.

Welcome to Rocky Top!

Members of our department had a wonderful time today at the Student Conduct & Community Standards Summer Staff Retreat! We even had the opportunity to witness some impressive pedal kart driving from our campus partners. We are grateful for the collaboration, camaraderie, and strong partnerships that continue to make our work so meaningful. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success!

Cpl. Quirin and Officer Bruce along with K9 Holt spent time visiting with Charme Allen, District Attorney General - Knoxville, TN High School Job Shadow Program.

The High School Job Shadow program offers students a front-row seat to the prosecutor's role in the criminal justice system. Students who demonstrate a strong interest in a career in criminal justice are selected to participate in the program. The experience allows students the opportunity to engage with a variety of professionals and learn about topics ranging from shoplifting to homicide. They also observe court proceedings, including trials. An exciting incentive for students of the program is one-on-one time with prosecutors to discuss what they observed in the courtroom.

Keep up the great work class!

We’re excited to welcome nine participants representing a diverse cross-section of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville campus community to our UTPD Citizen’s Academy.

In this first session, our campus partners had the opportunity to hear from members of our command staff and Community Relations Unit and even got hands-on with a fingerprinting activity. They even got a demonstration from members of our K9 Unit.

We’re looking forward to the next installment and continuing to build strong connections through this engaging program!
