The results of the May 5th Knox County Primary Elections were certified by the Election Commission at its May 21st meeting.

Eleven (11) Provisional ballots - out of 29 considered - were added to the unofficial totals which were posted on election night. Both the Cumulative and Precinct-level results can be viewed at www.knoxvotes.org

The Knox County Election Commission will meet on Thursday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m. in the Small Assembly Room of the City County Building at 8:30 a.m. to certify the results of the May 5, 2026 Knox County Primary Elections.

Today - May 8th - is the first day that a Knox County voter can request an absentee by-mail ballot for the August 6, 2026 election.

The Knox County Election Commission’s Provisional Ballot Counting Board will meet on Friday, May 8th at 9 a.m. at the west office of the Election Commission to consider twenty-nine (29) provisional ballots cast during the May 5, 2026 election.

Provisional ballots cast by County Commission/School Board District:

• District 1 – Three (3) provisional ballots
• District 2 – Two (2) provisional ballots
• District 3 – Three (3) provisional ballots
• District 4 - Two (2) provisional ballots
• District 5 – Six (6) provisional ballots
• District 6 – One (1) provisional ballot
• District 7 – One (1) provisional ballot
• District 8 – Seven (7) provisional ballots
• District 9 – Four (4) provisional ballots

Election Day is Tuesday, May 5 in Knox County.

Before you head to the polls tomorrow, have a plan to ensure your voting experience is quick and easy.

Polls are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Any registered voter in line by 8 PM gets to vote.

Please note: there is a 100-foot campaign-free boundary around the polling place entrance. Please leave any campaign-related hats, shirts, or materials in your car.

Also, please be aware that your polling place may have changed since the last election.
