We had some special guest readers visit KCES on May 1st...The KMS Champion Students from March & April! Our students LOVE having the KMS students over to read stories to them.

March/April Crew : Every month at KCES our teachers in grades 1st-4th select a student from their classroom to represent their class on the KCES Kindness Crew. These students are selected for their positive attitude, leadership skills, kindness, compassion for others, and their willingness to help in the classroom.

Our March/April Crew was busy delivering Friday Food and planning school wide community service projects. Each grade selected the organization that they wanted to help, the way that they were going to raise money for them, and created flyers to raise awareness for their cause.

Here are the completed projects:

City of Knox Fireworks - Hat Day - $250
Riley's Children's Hospital - PJ DAY & Donations - $700

Do you have a little one looking for a great Pre-K experience? Come and join us! We will be hosting an open house for interested Pre-K families on Monday, May 4th from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Students must be potty trained and 4 years old by August 1, 2026 to enroll. (Students who have a late birthday and turn 5 in May, June or July may be eligible for enrollment if seats are available.)

Mark your Calendars! Our KCES Art show will be displayed for our students from April 29th - May 1st. We will have a Parent Night on April 30th from 5-7PM. Parents that attend the Art Show will be provided with a bag of pre-loved books for summer reading :)

Hey KCES 3rd and 4th graders! Don't forget about the Laser Tag Fundraiser being put on by Chief Smith, our KCSC Resource Officer. The event is Friday, 4/17, after school. Chief Smith will set up laser tag matches for kids who come to join the fun. Matches will be in age bands. 3rd through 5th graders will compete against one another and 6th through 8th graders will face off.
If your 3rd or 4th grader is going, please send a note to their teacher giving permission for them to be escorted to KMS after dismissal.
