At 927 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles west of Truscott to 14 miles northeast of Swenson. Movement was east at 10 mph.

HAZARD: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE: Radar indicated.

IMPACT: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include: KNOX CITY, Benjamin, Truscott, and Gilliland.

This storm has an increased potential to produce severe weather such as very frequent lightning, heavy rain, hail and/or damaging winds and should be considered dangerous. I've been clearing the golf course for 17 years, and I can't tell you how many times I've had to go out on the golf course and beg people to come off and they still stay out there when severe weather is imminent. Since we've had the horn, I have not had that conversation.

- Tornado Watch for portions of Western Oklahoma Far Northwest Texas

- Effective this Monday afternoon from 435 PM until Midnight CDT.

- Primary threats include: A few tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes possible Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5 inches in

- Thunderstorm development is ongoing along the dryline in western OK. The very unstable and moderately sheared environment could support a few supercells if the warm and dry low to mid levels can be overcome. All hazards including very large hail and tornadoes are possible with any mature storms. Low-level shear will strengthen this evening as the low-level jet increases, and any storm that persists into the evening could encounter an environment supportive of strong tornadoes.

- The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northwest of Alva OK to 40 miles southwest of Wichita Falls TX. For a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU6).

It’s National Public Utilities Week! I’ve seen this group of men do everything from keeping 3 water systems going in weather with wind chills below 10 degrees for 96 hrs. To getting water back on line in less than 7 hrs after a catastrophic infrastructure failure. If you see them tell them thanks.
