This morning, DAV Wake Chapter 1 was proud to stand alongside fellow veterans and advocates at the North Carolina Veterans Council Legislative Day in Raleigh.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the DAV members who showed up, represented our organization with pride, and made their voices heard on behalf of veterans across North Carolina. Your commitment to advocacy helps ensure that veterans and their families continue to receive the support and benefits they have earned.

Special thanks to the dedicated volunteers of DAV Wake County Chapter 1 who arrived early to set up the tent and warmly welcomed attendees by serving coffee and donuts to our veterans. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the DAV Department of North Carolina for providing the coffee and donuts that helped make the morning even more special for those in attendance.

Your hard work, hospitality, and servant leadership helped make the event a success.

Together, we continue to fulfill DAV’s mission of empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.

Big news for the 2026 DAV & Auxiliary National Convention!

The War and Treaty—the husband-and-wife duo of Michael and Tanya Trotter—will be performing at this year’s convention in Orlando this August.

Nominated for two awards at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song for “Blank Page,” they’re bringing their powerful sound to all registered attendees on Monday, Aug. 3.

Disabled American Veterans NC Department Distinguished Service Award.

Chapter Commander Cash-Leathers and Adjutant Jones presented Leo Almeida one of the owner’s of A & M Premier Roofing and Construction the Distinguished Service Award

What sets A & M Premier Roofing and Construction apart is their unwavering commitment to serving fellow veterans. The company generously donated a new roof to DAV Wake County Chapter 1, saving the organization approximately $16,000 and ensuring the facility remains safe and operational for disabled veterans seeking assistance.

Through their NC Roofs for Veterans initiative, the company provides free roof replacements to local deserving Veteran every quarter for veterans in need, covering 100% of labor and materials.
