Food is distributed on Wednesday (from last names starting on A thru K) and Thursday )from last names starting on L thru Z) of each week. was established in July 1997, it was incorporated in the State of North Carolina as a non-profit organization in October of 1997. The purpose of the center is to assist low income families, elderly, disabled citizens with food and clothing. We distribute food on
every Wednesday and Thursday of each week, It is distributed by the last name of the clients. If your last name begin with the letter "A-K", you will come on Wednesday to get your food, Thursday's letters are "L-Z". losing your home in a fire or being layed off from work). We are partnered with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, the Interfaith Food Shuttle and the local Food Lion stores. Through their partnership, we were awarded:
1. The Hunger Hero Award for the years of 2013 and 2014 for feeding the most families in Wake County.
2. 2006 and 2007 We won The Most Pounds Distributed Award in Wake County.
3. Governor Bev Perdue recognized the CHSC, Inc. for our excellence of service we gave to the community in February 2011.
4. Billy Neal received The Citizen of the Year Award for the year of 2011. The center operate solely by donations.
