We Will Never Forget

Twenty-five years ago today, the world held its breath in shock as we witnessed the most devastating events this Nation has ever seen.

The memory of this tragedy lives on in how we honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We also pay tribute to the first responders and service members whose courage and sacrifice shined like a beacon amidst the thick ashen sky. Their bravery is the foundation upon which we continue to build.

To recognize the events of 25 years ago, our Chief Petty Officers and Chief Selects participated in a solemn march and hosted a ceremony following morning colors.

May we never forget, and may we always honor their legacy through our continued commitment and service.

Diving Deep for Fleet Readiness⚓

Beneath the surface at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard U.S. Navy Divers conduct meticulous inspections on the shipyard's new dry dock caisson.

As a critical component of dry dock operations, caissons serve as massive floating gates that seal dry dock chambers—allowing water to be pumped out so our workforce can maintain, overhaul, and modernize the Navy's attack submarine fleet in a safe, dry environment.
