May is National Foster Care Month!

Foster Care is a program designed to protect children from situations in their own homes, which may cause them physical and/or emotional harm. The Juvenile Court makes the determination if these children can remain safely in their home, due to abuse, neglect, or other family problems. If the Court finds the children are not safe in their home, temporary custody is then given to the County CYF agency. Foster homes are critical in helping to care for these children while their families receive treatment and other assistance to overcome their issues and difficulties.
Armstrong County Children, Youth and Family Services is seeking families that are willing to open their homes to these children. Our foster families strive to provide these children a safe, and caring home in an atmosphere that allows a child to heal from the trauma which they have experienced.

If you are interested and would like more information, please join us on Saturday, May 18th from 12-3 pm to learn more. Or call CYF at 724-548-3466 and speak to the Foster Care Coordinator. If you want to apply, access the QR Code to complete a Foster Parent Application.
