Tohopekaliga's achieved the following:
· Seniors totaled over $9.5 million in scholarship awards, and 94% have confirmed plans after high school.
· 58 students earned Bright Futures Scholarships - 10 received the Academic Scholarship, 32 received the Medallion Scholarship, and 16 received the Gold Seal Scholarship.
· 91 graduates were accepted into a Top 100 College or University, including Baylor University, Boston University, Brown University, Clemson University, Florida International University, Florida State University, Fordham University, Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Pennsylvania State University, University at Buffalo (SUNY), University of Colorado Boulder, University of Connecticut, Michigan State University, University of Florida, University of Maryland, University of Oklahoma, University of Pittsburgh, University of South Florida, University of Washington, and the University of Wisconsin.
· 50 graduates received AP Scholar recognition for exceeding a standard high school diploma and passing Advanced Placement courses with a score of 3 or higher.
· 38 students participated in Dual Enrollment and earned their AA degrees from Valencia College. In partnership with Osceola Technical College, 24 students completed oTech Dual Enrollment certifications.
· 9 seniors will be serving our country by enlisting in the military.
· One student was selected for admission to the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, as a member of the class of 2030.
· The Class of 2026 received over 400 industry certifications across 13 programs. These certifications include Adobe Professionals, Food Safety Managers, Phlebotomists, and EKG technicians.
· CTE students won numerous scholarships and awards, including 45 Florida Print Awards, and the Skills USA Design team swept the Regional championship.
· One student is heading to the National SkillsUSA Competition, and 16 total students are going to the National Adobe Design Competition in June.
· 69 students were awarded the Florida Seal of Fine Arts, which recognizes high school graduates who have met exemplary standards in fine arts coursework.
· Chorus received straight Superiors on six different performances at the state level for the first time in school history.
· The Visual Arts Department had multiple students competing in the Annual Congressional Arts competition.
· One student was selected to display their Surrealism painting at the Dali Museum for their summer exhibition.
· One ceramic student finished 2nd in the congressional art show.
· The Theatre Department received 18 Superiors at Thespians districts, and 3 superiors at Thespian States, and the school’s one-act play was selected to perform at the state Thespian Festival.
· The Band earned a straight Superior rating at Marching Band MPAs for the 5th year in a row, the Wind Ensemble returned to states for the 3rd year in a row, and the Advanced Jazz Band earned a straight Superior at MPAs, earning them a trip to states for the 5th year in a row.
· One Senior performed a grade 7 French horn solo at states from memory and earned a Superior rating with distinction, which was the first time in Tohopekaliga history.
In Athletics:
· 24 student-athletes signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, while several programs achieved historic firsts and milestone accomplishments.
· Tiger Athletics celebrated 6 state qualifiers, 2 Orange Belt Conference Championships in Cheerleading and Boys Soccer, 4 individual District Champions, and 25 regional qualifiers.
· Tiger Athletes broke over 30 school records while maintaining a 3.24 overall athletics GPA.
· The Class of 2026 has completed over 19,000 hours of community service and over 7,000 documented work hours.
· Latinos in Action spearheaded many charitable service projects this year, such as continued student mentorship with future Tigers at East Lake Elementary, and the JROTC works tirelessly to support dozens of our community organizations.
· One student earned the prestigious QuestBridge Scholarship and received acceptance offers from both the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University, being the first student in Tohopekaliga High School history to be accepted to both schools.
· Another student made school history as the first to be accepted into Brown University, and another received the Gates Scholarship.
