The Mission of the Leadership Osceola Program is to Prepare,
Inspire and Support Leadership for the Improved Future of Our Community.

Founded in 1989, Leadership Osceola was created to ensure our community had a foundation of knowledgeable, engaged, civic-minded individuals prepared to lead Osceola. Founded in 1989 at the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Osceola was created to ensure our community had a foundation of knowledgeable, engaged, civic minded individuals prepared to lead Osceola. The program ha

s been creating a more leader-full community for more than 30 years and has opened the door to public and civic service for hundreds of individuals across our society. Candidates are identified by local businesses, community stakeholders, and Leadership Osceola alumni for program consideration. The application process commences in the fall and includes the submission of an application and candidate interview conducted by a selection committee comprised of Leadership Osceola alumni. The class is seated in January and kicks off with a two day retreat early February. The class size is purposefully kept small (30-35 individuals) to facilitate class connectedness and camaraderie. Over the course of six months, participants gain valuable exposure to key issues affecting the community through interactive activities and hands-on experiences. Topics explored include environment, government, criminal justice, education, economic development, health & emergency services, agribusiness, social services, arts & culture, and visioning. Program days also contain focused community leadership training, skills development, and capacity building. Leadership Osceola culminates with a graduation ceremony hosted by Walt Disney World. Upon graduation, participants are encouraged to engage in public betterment, government advisory, and/or civic service opportunities that make community impact. Leadership Osceola is an incredible orientation to a myriad of key community issues and exposure to Osceola’s movers and shakers. This program is excellent for long-time residents or newcomers to the community. Tuition is $1500 per person and includes all program expenses, including a 2-day retreat. A limited number of scholarships (50%) are available for small businesses and non-profits.

Leadership Osceola’s Economic Development Day gave Class 2026 an inside look at the many forces shaping Osceola County’s growth and future.

Our day began at Experience Kissimmee, where we explored the impact of tourism on our community and learned how Tourism Development Tax dollars help support infrastructure, public safety, schools, and community services. We also discussed the importance of diversifying our economy while continuing to celebrate what makes Osceola unique beyond the parks: our culture, cuisine, downtowns, nature and family-oriented experiences.

At The OC building in NeoCity FL, we heard about the county’s vision for innovation, advanced manufacturing, and high-paying jobs that will help create long-term economic resilience for future generations. We also toured the SkyWater Technology facilities and learned about the company’s role in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging. Seeing this vision already taking shape helped us better understand how NeoCity is positioning Osceola County as a hub for technology and innovation.

We concluded at Valencia College’s Osceola Campus, where we saw how education and workforce development are intentionally connected to the county’s future through STEM programs, accelerated training, and affordable education opportunities.

Economic Development Day reminded us that strong communities are built through collaboration, vision, and investment in people. Thank you to all the organizations and leaders who shared their insight with Leadership Osceola!

The Leadership Osceola Class of 2026 recently spent the day immersed in one of Florida's most essential industries: agriculture. With visits to Deer Park Peaches, Double C Bar Ranch and Mick Farms, the class experienced firsthand the dedication, innovation and stewardship that shape Osceola County’s agricultural community.

While the scenery and fresh harvests made a lasting impression, the day's true impact came from the lessons in leadership. Across every stop, one thing was clear: strong leadership isn’t defined by industry, but by action. Commitment, adaptability, and the desire to serve others are what set great leaders apart. From long-standing family traditions to forward-thinking operations, the class witnessed what it truly means to lead by example.

A special thank you to our day partners: UF IFAS Extension Osceola County, Deer Park Peaches, Double C Bar Ranch Blueberries, Mick Farms, Osceola County(FL) Cattlemen's Association, Silver Spurs Club and the Florida Farm Bureau Federation for sharing your time, knowledge, and passion. Your impact continues to inspire the next generation of leaders!
