Celebrating Our Behind the Scenes Heroes!

It’s National IT Professionals Day, and we’re giving a big shout-out to our Information Technology Department! You may not always see them, but they’re working behind the scenes every day to keep our city connected and running smoothly.

From helping employees with technical issues to keeping our systems and servers running, their expertise and dedication support everything we do.

It’s Florida Redevelopment Week! 🏗️

Our two Community Redevelopment Areas (CRAs), Downtown Kissimmee and Vine Street, are helping to turn underused properties into new opportunities for our community.

With grants that help improve commercial properties and larger projects bringing new businesses, restaurants, public art, and mixed-use development to these areas underway, redevelopment is happening throughout both districts.

Florida Redevelopment Week is one week, but redevelopment is happening every day.

Fandom Kissimmee took over Kissimmee Lakefront Park today, and it might be our favorite one yet.

You could see cosplay in every direction all afternoon. Each vendor brought a different corner of fandom with them, and that mix is what made the day special.

Thank you to our sponsors Experience Kissimmee, Florida and Toho Water Authority for making today possible.

Today, we remember the first responders who ran toward danger, the lives lost, and the families forever changed by that day.

We honor their courage and the spirit of service they represented. As we remember, we are reminded of the bond we share as public servants and the importance of standing together for the citizens we serve.

Our Code Enforcement team works every day to help keep Kissimmee safe, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors. Here are three simple ways you can help:

🏠 Keep private signs out of the public right-of-way to help maintain clear and safe sightlines for drivers and pedestrians.

🏠 Obtain the proper permits before you attempt to do any alterations to your property or build something new on your property.

🏠 Maintain your property’s exterior by keeping buildings and structures safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Working together, we can help maintain a safe and attractive community for everyone.

If you have any questions about Code Enforcement requirements and our process, please visit kissimmee.gov/codeenforcement to learn more.
