We are primarily a volunteer fire department with a full time fire chief and secretary. We provide a full complement of fire and rescue services to 15,000 full time residents of our 140square mile fire protection district. In addition we have a seasonal population increase of approximately 200,000 people. We have 2 major lakes in our district that are used for fishing, boating and all other water

recreation. On our eastern edge of the district we have a very large portion of the Mark Twain Forest that see a lot of hiking activity all year around depending on the weather.

Blane's passion for caring for his community stretches far beyond his full-time career. Whether it's organizing trainings, performing apparatus checks, or responding to calls in the middle of the night, Blane is there!

Meet Steve of Station 4 in Kirbyville!
When Steve is not teaching engineering students for Liberty University, he volunteers as a Driver/Operator for the District. Steve's attention to detail and desire to learn drives his ability to manage a firetruck during emergencies! Whether it is pumping water to supply hoses for a fire or positioning a truck to block traffic during a motor vehicle crash, Steve is there!

On Saturday, April 18th, the Central Taney County Fire Protection District held their annual awards banquet. This annual banquet allows members of our District to come together in food, fun, fellowship, and celebrating the accomplishments of 2025.

The Central Taney County Fire Protection District responded to 1,007 calls for service with 2,890 training hours.
πŸ”₯35 active structure fires
πŸ”₯ 83 wildland fires totaling 833 acres
πŸ”₯11 vehicle fires and 3 boat fires
πŸ”₯60 motor vehicle accidents, 5 requiring extrication
πŸš‘466 medical response calls

Our guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Frank Thomas, who suffered a cardiac arrest on September 12th, 2025. Frank was administered CPR by Battalion Chief Brian Chaney, who was nearby when the emergency happened. Mr. Thomas was able to meet Battalion Chief Chaney and present him with a Lifesaver Award because of the successful efforts that September night.
