Free Holiday Meal Kits for the Winter Break

Central Consolidated School District will distribute free meal boxes to students on Monday, December 22, to ensure families have nutritious food throughout the winter break.

The holiday meal distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until supplies last, at three locations:
• Shiprock High School
• Kirtland Middle School
• Newcomb High School
Each student will receive two meal boxes containing a total of 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches, along with one gallon and one quart of milk. The meals are designed to support families during the period when schools are not in session, from December 22 through January 2.

No registration is required. Families can visit any of the three distribution sites during the scheduled hours. Children ages 18 and younger can receive these meals, free of charge, as long as they are physically present at the meal site and in the serving line. Children and youth receive the same meals on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no discrimination during the course of the meal service.

"It is wonderful to see such commitment to supporting our communities," said Mark Silko, General Manager of School Food & Environment at CCSD. "This program is intended to provide for our students' needs while schools are not in session."
