🎉 **GREAT NEWS FOR KIRKLIN!** 🎉

The Town of Kirklin is excited to announce that we have been awarded a **$27,000 Planning Grant** through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA)!

This funding will be used for a **stormwater utility study** to help us take a comprehensive look at Kirklin’s stormwater infrastructure, identify existing problem areas and needs, and develop a plan to guide future improvements.

As many of our residents know, portions of Kirklin’s stormwater infrastructure are aging, undersized, or simply not well documented over many decades. Having a professional plan in place is an important first step toward addressing these issues strategically rather than simply reacting to problems as they occur.

We would also like to **thank everyone who completed and returned the community surveys** during the grant application process. Your participation was an important part of helping the Town pursue this funding.

This $27,000 grant allows Kirklin to begin planning for the future and gives us valuable information that can be used when pursuing funding for future stormwater improvements.

We are very excited to see this project move forward and appreciate OCRA’s investment in our community!

This bears repeating in case you missed it on the previous post: There will be NO trash or limb pick up on Monday (Labor Day). Residential trash service will be Tuesday, Sept. 8 instead. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

Congratulations to the members of the Kirklin Fire Department who were recently recognized for reaching 10 and 25 years of service!

Reaching these milestones represents so much more than a number of years. It represents many hours of training, missed meals, interrupted nights, time away from family, and answering the call whenever our community needed help.

We are grateful for the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment each of you has shown to our community.

Congratulations on receiving your service pins,and most importantly, thank you for your service!
