🔥 STAGE I FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT 🔥

The Prescott Regional Communications Center would like to remind residents that our area will move into Stage I Fire Restrictions beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

These restrictions are being enacted by Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Prescott Fire Department due to increasing fire danger across the region.

🚫 PROHIBITED:
• Residential burn permits — No new burn permits will be issued and all active permits will be suspended
• Use of model rockets
• Fireworks and pyrotechnics (unless approved through a fire department pyrotechnics permit)
• Outdoor use of fi****ms

✅ ALLOWED WITH CONDITIONS:
• Fires for cooking, warming, or campfires (ash or ember producing) are allowed at residences and approved Town parks if attended at all times
• Smoking outdoors is allowed only inside a vehicle, in a residential yard, or in a designated smoking area

Please help protect our community by following all fire restrictions and using extra caution outdoors this summer.

All of Southern Yavapai Fire Departments response area also including the Prescott National Forest will be under Stage 1 fire restrictions beginning May 21 2026 through September 30 2026!!

Your call is answered by one of five local Emergency Communication Centers (ECC). Each center serves different geographic areas and may dispatch different law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies, depending on your location. They all share the same goal: getting help to you fast.

Protect Your Home: Free Slash Drop-Off is Back! 🌲
It’s time to get Firewise, Yavapai County! From April 1 through June 1, 2026, residents can drop off yard waste for FREE at County transfer stations.

Clearing debris and creating a 5 to 30-foot defensible space around your home is one of the best ways to protect it from wildfires.

📍 Where to Go
Free drop-off is available during normal hours at stations in: Black Canyon City, Camp Verde, Congress, Mayer, Paulden, Seligman, and Skull Valley.

📋 The Rules
Accepted: Brush, branches, grass, leaves, and yard trimmings. (Must be removed from plastic bags!)

Not Accepted: Lumber, stumps, roots, cactus, metal, garbage, and commercial loads.
