The City of Kinston is excited to announce that we have been awarded funding from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for the 2027 Urgent Repair Program (URP27)!

URP27 provides assistance to very low‑income homeowners with special needs whose homes have conditions that pose an imminent threat to life or safety, or that could cause imminent displacement.

Assistance is provided as a 0% interest, deferred loan, which is forgiven at a rate of $5,000 per year until the balance reaches zero, as long as the homeowner continues to live in the home.
