*****Condolences Statement from Former Mayor Don Hardy to the Kinston Community*****
It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the families, friends, loved ones, and all those throughout Kinston who are grieving the recent loss of members of our community.
In times like these, words often seem inadequate. The shock, pain, and sense of loss that accompany the unexpected passing of loved ones can leave a profound impact on families, friends, neighbors, classmates, coworkers, and our entire community. As a community, we mourn together, support one another, and stand united in compassion and love.
To every family facing heartbreak, please know that you are not alone. Our thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support are with you during this difficult season. May you find strength in the memories you shared, comfort in the love that surrounds you, and peace in knowing that your loved ones made a lasting impact on the lives of so many.
Kinston has always been a resilient community, and even in moments of sorrow, we continue to demonstrate the power of faith, unity, and caring for one another. Let us continue to lift each other up, check on our neighbors, and extend grace and kindness to those who are hurting.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Don Hardy
