4-H believes that families need each other (along with knowledgeable, caring people in the community) to grow great kids. Through working together, families can leverage each other’s skills, knowledge and strengths rather than just their own, giving support to each other in the process. 4-H believes these family/community networks are the most effective way to develop great kids, and 4-H is the co

nduit through which these networks happen. These networks of families and knowledgeable friends (adult volunteers) within communities are called 4-H clubs. Clubs can take many forms, but they share several fundamental traits:
-They are made up of families and adult volunteers from the community
-They are multi-age (for youth aged 7-18), though they often have activities within them for particular ages
-Pre-teens and teenagers take leadership roles in both making the club work and teaching younger members, under the supervision of adults

Join our Fair Fun workshop, inspired by the Edwards County Fair LEGO division! Ignite your creativity with free-style building, exciting challenges, and team activities. Use the provided LEGOs or bring your own kit to build and compete.

We invite all participants to join at least 2 of the 3 class sessions offered, ensuring you get the most out of the experience. If you have any questions, call the Extension office at 620.549.3502.

What a wonderful way to wrap up Cloverbuds! 💚 We’ve enjoyed a year full of learning, creating, and making memories. Yesterday, the kids finished a visual arts project and made ice cream in a bag, definitely a crowd favorite! 🍦🎨 We look forward to seeing many of these children showcase their skills and creations at the Edwards County Fair this summer!

New this year - the FCS Judging Contest will be held June 4, 2026 on the K-State Campus, Justin Hall, Manhattan, Ks..
It will also be offered as an optional session for Discovery Day participants!
Open to ALL youth ages 9-18 (youth can participate as individuals or as a team of 3-4 youth)
Registration closes May 8th.

Thanks to a generous Bill House Ag Grant through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, scholarships are available for 4‑H’ers to attend K‑State College of Veterinary Medicine’s VetMed Rocks Summer Camps!
These exciting one‑day camps are perfect for youth who love animals and want to explore veterinary science 👩‍⚕️🐶🐮

Some exciting news about the club 🎉: Wildcat Rocketry won the national competition and broke the altitude world record at the 2025 Argonia Cup 🌟. They are back-to-back champions of the 2026 Argonia Cup 🏆! Their record-breaking flight reached 25,449 feet 🚀 with a payload of 10 golf balls ⛳, earning a final score of 82,680 📈.
