On this report date of 05/28/2014 at apx. 9:27 a.m officers from the Kingwood City Police Department and Preston County Sheriffs Department responded to Browns Park and Rt. 7. On scene officers encountered a DOH worker who had sustained work related injuries from road equipment. Both East and West bound lanes of traffic where temporally closed for emergency personnel. At the time of this report all lanes are back open to traffic. Do to injuries sustained from the accident the DOH worker was transported to Garrett Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. This accident remains under investigation by Captain Fred Harrison and the Kingwood City Police Dept.

The Kingwood City Police Dept. is offering the public free gun safety locks. These locks were donated through the program "Project Childsafe". Each lock comes with instructions and two keys.
You do not have to be a resident of Kingwood to obtain a lock/locks. Please contact us if you wish to obtain one of these locks, or multiple locks. If you live within the city limits of Kingwood a officer can deliver to your home as many locks as you or your family need, at no cost.
You can obtain locks at the Kingwood City Police Department, or by requesting one from a police officer. Each officer will have some in their patrol car. Again these locks are free to the public.

This picture was taken Sunday, 04/27/2014 at 12:29 a.m. These male subjects are wanted for questioning in regards to a crime committed at the Green Acres apartment complex in Kingwood WV. Update to the April 16th 2014 post:

The identity to the suspect depicted in the photo has been obtained. Thanks to the public, probable cause has been found and an arrest warrant has been obtained for Stephen Duane Wilder.
Through a follow up investigation in the Terra Alta area Chief Todd Nestor, Cpl. Doug Rumer of the Kingwood City Police Dept. and Lt. Rick Turner of the Preston County Sheriffs Dept. located stolen property belonging to a victim located in Kingwood WV.
Attempts have been made to contact Stephen Duane Wilder but it is believed that he has left the area. Possibly in the Parkersburg or Columbus Ohio area.
Again, we are asking for the publics help in locating Mr. Wilder. Please contact the Kingwood City Police Department with any information. (304) 329-1225. You may remain anonymous.

The City of Kingwood would like to make the public aware that starting Thursday, May 1st 2014 all parking ordinances will enforced. Kevin Stiles with the Kingwood City Parks and Recreation will be the new Parking Enforcement Officer and has been given authority to issue Municipal citations. Officer Stiles will be patrolling city streets for parking violations, maintaining parking meters and issuing Municipal citations for violations.
